The Marina at Wisbech. The Rose and Crown Hotel is at the centre of events, as it has been for 600 years.
The Marina at Wisbech. The River Nene is tidal at Wisbech and the mooring pontoons float up and down with the tide. Just below the Marina is the Port, and surprisingly large vessels, many from Russia, the Baltic and Spain discharge or take on cargo. Just a mile or two up river from Wisbech the River Nene is ideal for narrow boats and these can be hired locally. Rose Fair Saturday is the day the town of Wisbech and the Villages around it hold a Carnival. The Rose and Crown Hotel is at the centre of events, as it has been for 600 years.

Father Christmas arrives at a Christmas Market on the original 1932 Wisbech fire-engine, now preserved and looked after by a group of Wisbech enthusiasts. The Market Place is cold and empty, but the Rose and Crown is warm and welcoming.
