The Rose and Crown Hotel has always been known for its food and 150 years ago Swan was on the menu!

Today we serve a full range of food from Bar Snacks to Bar Meals to Steaks and Brassiere to a-la-carte, so if you are planning a celebration or night out why not come to one of our eateries?
We also serve Civic and Directors Luncheons and Dinners.
Daily Specials: Our kitchen prepares one or two Specials every day and these are very reasonably priced. They are even better value if bought with a pint! (or tea or coffee!)
Snacks (pasties and baps) start at 1-50
Filled Jacket potatoes, served with small healthy salad are between 2-00 and 3-00 (cheese, tuna, prawn etc)
Sandwiches and baguettes, served with small healthy salad start at 1-95
Pizzas start at 4-00
We serve Panninis, Omelettes, Salads, Burgers and Children's Menu.
Bar meals start at 3-95 and are served with a choice of potatoes. Large battered cod, scampi, beefy steak and kidney or steak and ale pie,etc, are priced at 6-95 and are served as a full meal.
Steaks (10 oz Rump, 12oz T-bone, 8oz Sirloin) with all the trimmings are 11-95, but look out for our special Steak Nights!
Try our choice of desserts! Apple Pie is 2-75, with cream, ice cream or custard!

Breaded Smoked Applewood Cheese on a salad of Apple, Celery and Walnut with a Sweet Apple Sauce

Char Grilled Loin of Pork Medallions with a Sweet Orange and Brandy Peppercorn Sauce
Braised Lamb Steak with a Mint and Shallot Mash in a red wine Glaze, served with a sweet Port Sauce
Poached Breast of Chicken stuffed with Bacon and Stilton and served with a light creamy Stilton Sauce
Chicken Supreme filled with Apple, Redcurrant and Vanilla Sauce
Duck Breast fanned over Caramelised Orange with an Orange and Ginger Sauce
Salmon Steaks cooked in Orange and Ginger Sauce with Sweet Red Onion and Parsnip Mash
Seared Salmon Supremes cooked in a Tarragon and Dill Sauce and served with fresh Asparagus and poached egg
Spinach and Mushroom Tagliatelle with Creamy garlic and Herb White Wine Sauce

Slow Roasted Pheasant in a Port and Redcurrant Sauce
Slowly Braised Partridge served on a bed of Swede and Carrot with Cherry Brandy and Beetroot Sauce
Braised Venison Steak in a rich Redcurrant Sauce
ALL DISHES are served with Chef's choice of Seasonal Vegetables together with a choice of Potatoes (Dauphinois, New, French Fries, Jacket) or a Seasonal Salad.
DESSERTS:
We have a fine range of traditional desserts; pies, cheesecakes, brulees, roulades, trifles, profiteroles, sorbets and ice creams.
Cheese and biscuits comes with a selection of 4 cheeses
We serve coffee (or tea) with mints to finish.
Our cellar has a good range of House Wines together with a range of Speciality Wines.
